Catch up

Here are the pictures that I took from Ronsta at the Gun Show ride the other night. Awesome ride and great time after. Thanks Ron.

Last night we went to Summerfest to see the Peter Gabriel. What a great show. He is such a talented singer and the show was just a show that I am glad that we went to. The people at Summerfest are a different thing. WOW are they a freak show. Not that I am perfect but there are a lot of messed up people walking around out there. The place was crowded and I have to say that I do not have to go back unless there is a good act there. Maddie is working in the amphitheater as a usher so that will have us hopping to get her to work and pick up at around midnight for the next 11 days. Oh well she seems to be enjoying it.

Tonight was a beat down and it was a large group of around 35 to 40 at the start. We were all clipping along and on the first hill Nate took off and it pulled Aaron and Chris out of the group and that was it as they rode away form us and beat us back to the parking lot by a good amount of time. But our group was keeping a good pace for the most part we rolled intact minus 5 or 6 riders. Now we are getting ready for a ride in the Kettles tomorrow in the morning to try to get the ride in before the temps hit 90 plus. Well time to get the ice cream and get to bed for another ride. Gun Show

Last night it was back to the normal riding after a 11 day run all over and race riding. Nate and I loaded the bikes and headed to Waukesha for the Gun Show ride. I asked Nate how the legs felt after a 1 day of rest and if the ride is what he wanted to do and he said yeah he wanted to go. I offered the track and he said no to that again. Thinking that the track may not happen this year which is to bad as it is always fun to watch. But I don't miss the bugs and all the mosquitoes. But Nate took his bike to the shop and put new cables, housing, chain and did a complete over haul on the entire bike yesterday and got home a little late causing us to just roll up as the ride was getting ready to leave. We made it and as always he hung on the fast group and did his pulls and tossed it down a few times. I hung on as long as I could and then rolled in with the other 5 that did and we had our nice ride again. Then it was a ice cold Blatz and off to the D'Mo's for some great pizza. I will post pictures later when I steal them from Ron when he puts them up. Later..

ToAD 9

Nate after he received his yellow overall Jr 15-18 year old series.

The gang with Nate and his jersey.

The gang chill'n during the races.

Chris doing an awesome job as always getting Nate back in the race.

Nate in the cat 2/3 race before he was taken out again.

Today was the last ToAD race. I have to say it has been a long week of racing and crashes. But it has been a fun time to hang with Nate and the ISCorp kids and team. What a awesome group. Today it was more of the same as Nate raced the Jr race in the morning and just sat in and finished 5th as he had a 5 point lead in the overall and in the end won the Yellow Jersey as the Jr overall champ. Then it was recover as much as he could then line up for the cat 2/3 race. He was sitting nicely in the pack when some guy sticks his front tire in the back of Nate's bike and rips off his derailler and Nate then got the the SRAM pit and got a spare bike to finish the race. He sat near the front but then settled in the middle and just finished with the pack to stay safe. Fun racing and glad it is done. Now time to chill and recover. Thanks for the great race series ToAD and ISCorp for the support. See you on the road. Later..

ToAd 8

Well what a day to say the least. Nate took a 2nd in the Jr race and it increased his lead in his led to 5 points again and now he just needs to ride the race tomorrow and he should win the jr overall. Then in the cat 2/3 he was sitting good and went down in another crash with 5 to go and so he chased back and got on and then went for a few laps and then he got a flat tire and just finished the race. Oh well tomorrow is the last race and we can't wait to it to finish and relax to get ready for the l'Bitibi. Just hoping to get by with no broken bones. Here are some awesome picture taken taken today. I will post more Later as I am beat. Later..

ToAD 7

Today was the crit in Fond du Lac and as always the flat course made for a fast race. Today we sent Joesy on his way with his parents and we miss im already. But we are replacing his spot with Kevin in the house. Never a dull moment at our house. So that left us with Gage in the cat 4/5 race today. He had a awesome race as he sat in the front and made the move to take a $50.00 prime and the stayed in the front to finish a strong 20th place in the race. Then it was Nate up next and he sat in the front for most of the race and tried to go off the front a few times only to be pulled back in and in the end he was sitting in the front and the field came around and he was boxed in and fought back for a 14th place finish for a spot in the money. Good day of racing as he stayed upright and no crashes so it was a good day. Tomorrow is the great Downer Ave race and Nate raced at 11:20 in the Jr race and then 2:20 in the cat 2/3. Come see some fast and great racing. Later..

ToAD 7

Today was the ToAD race in Sheboygan. What a day is all I have to say WOW what a day. I am just happy for a lot of really nice people around that make things that can go wrong seem so easy to deal with. Well it was raining and that makes for a crappy race to start with and then the crashes add to the fun.

Gage and Joesy went off first in the cat 4/5 race and with the rain it was a nice pace and Joesy was sitting on the front of the field or a few spots back. Gage ws doing good and tried to go for a prime and was just nipped at the line. Then Gage moved back int he pack and then off the pace and was pulled about 3/4 the way through the race. Joesy was hanging on and then was crashed on got the wheel pit and got a new wheel and was back at the front in no time. Then on the last lap he pushed it as hard as he could and finished 15th in the race. He was not hurt and the bike is fine so a good day.

Nate now was sitting great during the race and was 4th wheel and a guy goes down and Nate does to. He came back to the medical tent and tells Joe that he is done? I go there and say wrap it and try to race. Nate looks at me and says OK and gets back in the race. Well he gets back to the front and is sitting 2nd or 3rd wheel and crashes again. Gets to the pits and takes a new rear wheel and goes back in. But comes back to the wheel pit as the wheel he got wasn't good and goes back at it again. He then chills for a bit and then with 5 to go he tries to fly off the front and they chase him down and he chills a bit more. With 3 to go starts to move back near the front and takes a 8th in the field sprint. Good day but then I found Marni ( my Dr from my accident 18 yrs ago ) and she stitched Nate up. I owe her a few beers as she did a great job. Now were are relaxing before the race tomorrow in Fond du Lac. Later..
