Catch up a little from the weekend
We had a busy weekend again as I went to the car show down at Nite Owl and as always it was a huge show with a ton of cars all over the place. I liked the show as there was all types of cars in the show and all stages of running from in work, junk yard ready to awesome over the top cars. Then Saturday night was a wedding witch was fun as always, maybe to much fun as the 4 am wake up call came fast. Then Sunday it was down to Kenosha for the Danskin Triathalon. Maddie was going to participate in the event but with the swimming she would have lost her illegibility for swimming on her school team so we volunteered along with the girls swim team handing out all the medals and water to the finishers. What a good time for the girls and us for sure. Nate is liking school and all must be good as he is not calling needing anything so that is good and he is racing every weekend. Maddie is swimming and the duel meets and swim meets are getting ready go full swing ahead soon. Oh yeah Maddie passed her drivers test so she is driving and that is a nice thing as we don't have to try to get her every where. Jessie is ready for 6th grade and after school she is going to go to swim after to help the swim team and have some fun so that will be nice as Maddie will be able to bring her home along with her after practice so we don't have to try to get her at 3pm everyday. Well time for some fun. Later..

1 week
Nate has been gone for 1 week and we have heard from him a few times through texting and Cece once on the phone. I think that is a good thing as it means he is busy with school and riding I hope, or he is locked up some where which I doubt. But I know he has had a busy weekend of racing at the track and then school did start Monday so with the riding of 3 to 4 hours a day and school I am sure he is tired and just doesn't have call home on the top of his list. I do remember being away at college and not contacting home for the first few weeks as I tried to figure the school load and wrestling into my life. After awhile I called home a few days a week to keep my parents in the loop of knowing I was doing OK. Nate and us will figure it out after awhile I am sure. I know he is racing this weekend at Purdue and that is all I know.
Maddie finished her last day of working during the weekday last week so she won't miss anymore swim practice and I hope that will help her confidence at the swim meets. She looked rusty at the meet over the weekend and I know she was way better then how she swam. Good things to come for sure at the next meets. Jessica is just been helping Cece everyday at school as Cece gets her classroom ready for the new school year. Boy did the summer go by fast. Me, just working away and trying to keep my head above water. Later..

Nate at Marian University
We dropped Nate off at Marian University yesterday for his next chapter in his life. The cyclist reported yesterday for the training camp and Nate for a freshman orientation later next week. It is nice that he got there early as it gives him some time to settle in and get used to the campus and some life in the dorms before the real school starts and his racing goes full swing. He had some track practice today and tomorrow and Saturday he races on the track right there in Indianapolis, that is nice not to have to travel to the races for a little bit. It was a nice drive down with no real traffic issues and we got all 7 of his bikes there thanks to Billy for the use of his sprinter as it made it easy. Once there we checked in at the cycling center and then moved him into his dorm. Once that was all done we loaded up and headed home as Nate had a meeting and some baseline testing for concussions. It is different in the house and Cece has talked to him and I think the girls miss him as they have no one to pick on. Jessie moved into his room already last night not even letting it cool down. I missed him as when I was getting ready for the group ride tonight it was different not getting 4 water bottles ready and putting 2 bikes on the roof rack. It will settle in and I will be doing more riding with old guys again. Just have to get used to it I guess. Later..

Wedding time
Last night was the first of 4 weddings in the next few months. Cece's cousin Cathy got married to Dave yesterday. It was a beautiful day for a outdoor wedding which was right next to a river to top it off. It was a nice night and really to bad that it was 2 hours away as I would have loved to stay longer and enjoy the night a little more but we still had a long drive home. The next 3 are here closer to home so that will be nice. Congrats Cathy and Dave.
I was able to get a 48 mile ride in yesterday with Casey to the Wind Point light house and back. It was a nice tail wind there and then a real stiff head wind on the way back making us work alittle which was nice. The only bummer was that Casey got 2 flats on the way down. I had the spare stuff for one and I do carry patches so we had to patch the 2nd one. We found out the problem after the 2nd flat which was his rim strip was not covering the entire nipple hole and it was causing the tubes to small holes in them. But other then that it was nice to ride with someone yesterday. Thanks Casey for the company.
Then yesterday was Nate's last Jr race around here as he will be in the Sr cat next year. He raced the race in WCA race in Menasha and took 1st place in the Jr 17-18 race. It was a nice way to end his jr racing for sure. Thanks to ISCorp, WCJ Wire, Endeavor, Mike, Billy, Randy, Doug and Lowell for all your support and help over the last few years as we couldn't have done it with out you guys. Now we move to the next chapter as we take Nate to Marian University in Indianapolis on Wednesday. I hope that Nate can get all his stuff in order in the next 2 days as he has been putting it off. I guess time will tell. Later..
